 Under the Sea

Another pocket letter swap.  I look out the window and it is still snowing today.  So this was my little "beach/tropical"getaway for the day.  Too bad we can't go for real but I still had fun creating this page for my swap pal.  Hope she likes it.

On to Something New

I decided to switch gears for a while.  I have been sewing and sewing and sewing.  I have put all my flannel scraps together to create 5 quilts so far - feels good to get rid of those buckets and the blankies are so nice to cuddle up in front of the TV with.  So I shoved the sewing machine back in the closet for now and went and signed up for a bunch of pocket letter swaps.  Also tried my hand at some digital scrapbooking.  Too bad the pictures didn't turn out that great.  Much prettier in person...

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a wee bit late.  With everyone being sick the last couple of weeks I actually missed Valentine's Day.  I had the pops all ready made they just needed decorating so I did and brought them in for my co-workers - a treat is a treat is doesn't matter what it is for :)

How Many More Days???

Its snowing today but the days are getting longer and Nicholas is sure Spring is just around the corner (at 6 it's hard to judge time).  And I have been checking out ideas for fairy garden improvements and expansion for this year.  I was inspired to start something fairyish and came up with this little garden home. It measures 3x3 - Perfect for setting beside my ivy pot.

Birthday Boy!

So Nicholas turned 6!!  He was so excited to have his first birthday party with real friends (not just aunts and uncles).  He asked for a pirate party and he dug out his Halloween costume from last year so he could be the Captain at his party.  I sent out cute piratey invitations to 8 little friends, made loot bags complete with a paper treasure box and cool pirate stuff, decorated the house, finished the cake and then sat back and waited - only one little friend showed up :(  That's when I was madly calling the aunts and uncles to come have cake and save the day - which they did!  Now I have to convince him to have a pirate party again next year since I have all the loot bags ready for one...Maybe his sister can be convinced to have one for her birthday...

Our First Stamp Club Class for 2016

My first class for the seems to have been a success (although I haven't been successful in getting all three projects to load here... So I give up)  Here are two of the cards we created.  Some new faces this year but it looks like we are going to have a great time together!

Something New

I attended a crop weekend back in October and several of the participants were raving about a new thing out there called "Pocket Letter Pages and Pals".  Had me intrigued but with so much else going on between then and Christmas I kind of put the thought on the back burner.  Then the other night (3am ish because that is when it seems my brain kicks into over drive and wakes me up with all sort of random thoughts) I suddenly remembered this.  So went online, joined the group, signed up for an event and went to work on a pocket letter.  The theme was "snowman fun".  It was quite a challenge as I only allowed myself to use what I had on hand and I had no idea where to begin.  But I kinda like how it turned out and I think the recipient did too.  Now I am signed up for a butterfly one too.  Will let you know how that one turns out!

Now I Know My ABC's...

Got it done! A few days of freezing rain "forcing" a few days off from work helped out too.  Finished a few other projects as well that I can't wait to share with you (as soon as I get pictures taken).  So I hope my cousin likes it and has fun

foiling on the turtle's shell

glittery spikes on the urchin and peek-a-boo doors

Mr. Snake has been sprayed with "goosebumps" I masked around him so only he would be bumpy

Mr. Walrus has some felt clouds and fish

iridescent flakes for fish scales

some ric rak for Mr. Yak

and some silk flowers to brighten the Savanah

Almost There

Only seven more letters to go! Hopefully my cousin enjoys putting pictures and little stories in here as much as I have enjoyed putting it all together.

Here we have snowy accents using chunky white glitter

Glossy accents on the bubbles and eyes and some fish and turtle beads to complete the under water scent

Mr. Raccoon has some satin / felt pumpkins he lifted from a near by garden

I think this one is my favorite so far with all the sweet little buttons!

A Winter Wonderland...

This was our yard on the weekend.  We don't have much snow (enough for the little skidoo though based on all those tracks!) But it sure has been frosty! Just LOVE it!

Happy New Year!

I have to apologize for my extended absence - internet wasn't working over the holidays which in a way was fortuitous as instead of checking out your tube and pinterest on my time off I was actually productive!  Just about finished my alphabet book, got a calendar done for my parents (of course forgot to take pictures before I sent it off), got a quilt ready to assemble, cleaned up the entire house (i mean closets, chandeliers, under the beds and everything!) but most importantly my room is looking pretty neat and tidy and I got 18 projects ready for my upcoming stamp club classes - woo hoo!

the jelly fish is highlighted with micro beads

the koala has been flocked so is nice and fuzzy

used flower soft on the lions mane to add dimension

monkey has a real vine to swing from

I tired to make it look like ice over the narwhal

and Mr. Octopus has lumpy and bumpy pearls on his head that look and feel cool
